Established in 1962, Havaianas are flip-flops like no other. The name Havaianas is Portuguese for Hawaiians and the very first pair was based on the traditional Japanese sandal known as the Zori. Crafted with lightweight, durable soles with a rice grain texture, the original style of Havaianas was so popular that they patented the design in 1966, starting the legacy of Havaianas flip flops that we know today.
Today, Havaianas are constantly evolving and innovating, with new styles of men's Havaianas and womens Havaianas flip-flops emerging each year. Modern Havaianas have a slimmer silhouette than their original counterparts, with many offering bright, bold colourways and plenty of embellished styles. As the go-to flip flop for millions of people across the globe, the designs may have changed but the original construction remains the same.
