I am so ready for this time of the year, it’s full of the best moments. I am a lover of Christmas and I change how I do things every year depending on funds and what mood I am in but I do love gift buying and decorating the house.
Now I ain’t one of those people who decides to put the decs up just after bonfire night or start buying 3 months beforehand, I tend to wait until the Christmas lights are up in town and everyone is talking about when they will have a get together for a beer or some nice food. It creates the excitement for me, unless your like my brother and you make a mad dash to the city or indoor shopping centre on Christmas Eve with a huge list, no mate, I am tucked in my new Pyjamas, with my beer in hand, scoffing my face full of cheese and crisps!
I don’t do lists either, I am a firm believer in a token gesture goes way farther than someone telling me they want the latest Now album or some chocolates. Gift giving does come easy to me though, I am a naturally good listener and I take in peoples likes and dislikes. The only gift I ever got back was a foot spa from my nan a few years back, I was fuming to say the least, she did end up with chocolates every year since, not the NOW cd though.
Stockings are the best of them all, you can fit an absolutely crazy amount into those things, especially if you buy one for a family of 4 :) I like to chuck in some Stance socks for the nephew, as a pair for every day of the week isn’t enough. I may go with the “Lookin Like A Snack” sock this year. He is obsessed with Reeses chocolate. They have such a great range, it’s hard to choose from, they make a cracking stocking filler.
Hampers are always a good shout if you're not entirely sure which way to go with presents. You can chuck a whole outfit into them. My dad loves his underwear essentials and likes good quality, so it’ll most likely be slippers, socks and some boxers, keeps him happy, I think he has just finished on his first pair of Sorel’s after about 4 years of wearing them, he never has them off his feet so I’d say that’s a heck of deal, he has massive toes as well so he needs a good sturdy pair. I feel a bit sick now at the thought.
