Autumn never looked so good

Autumn never looked so good

It feels like this may actually be a proper season this year, if the drop in temps is anything to go by. I personally like the change and I have to admit I am a cold weather lovin' lass, maybe it’s the North East side to me or maybe it’s that I am quite obsessed with every beanie collection that comes through the door! I get wrong off our lad every year for the sheer amount of room taken up in our house with acrylic and wool!

The thought of a nice chunky cosy beanie to keep my bonnet toasty just fills me with so much pleasure, if it looks decent then that’s a bonus. I tend to bounce from brand to brand as well, they usually have their own vibe and I like to wear different ones depending on how frosty it is out there.

My go to is usually a Barts beanie as I love a good pom style hat. Their colours are insane and look so good! The fleece lined headband inside is an extra treat as I am a fantastic allergy sufferer and the itch is non-existent. This year I am changing it up and going with a cuff style beanie, I have my eye on their Bridgey beanie in yellow, the pattern, the colour, the softness of it just really appeals to me.

The men's collection looks strong with a lot of rich block colours, particularly the Kinabalu style. I think this will be a popular range as it comes away from the usual safe colours of black and grey, nothing the matter with them but it’s nice to see more colours out there. The Ridgel beanie is also a favourite with the tie dye effect if you're into something a little different.

For the really colder months Jack Wolfskin is a great option, they cover a lot of bases with their range, for walkers, hikers, runners to name but a few. Their eco-friendly range is also good to see using recycled materials, the Stormlock being one. It’s got a warm fleece lining and is also windproof which makes it ideal if you like getting your 10,000 steps in during the colder months.

With so many options out there the beanie game is strong, so good luck finding the right one for you.  Some of you may be practical and some may want to just look Insta ready. I can’t relate to the latter, I am simply a practical girl, comfort and warmth come first, hence the mountain of beanies I have, one for every weather condition and activity naturally.
