Jordy Gets Gold!

Surfing Star Jordy victorious at the X-Games

South African surfing star Jordy Smith has won the gold medal at the X-Games for his entry in the Real Surf Video Award category. Defeating Australian pair Chippa Wilson and Dion Agius to first place, Jordy won the main prize as well as netting the decent sum of $50,000!

Speaking of the win, Jordy explained the video. "Most of my video was filmed in Africa, In Mozambique" he said. "My girlfriend Lyndall told me about this spot and I never believed her at first!" he added. Continuing, Jordy explained "She ended up taking me there and I scored some of the best waves I've had in the last ten years, so I dedicate this one to her."

Jordy Smith has been surfing since the age of 6. He now competes on the World Championship Tour and is sponsored by a number of brands including O'Neill, DVS and DaKine.
