Lil Wayne Helps Build Skatepark In New Orleans
Global rap star Lil Wayne has built a brand new state of the art skating facility in his home patch of New Orleans.
Wayne has been skating for 18 months now and has well and truly fell in love with the board, so much so that he's even put his rap career on hold to concentrate on his skateboarding, whilst he's not a pro by any means yet, reports are that he is progressing rapidly and would love to see how far he can take it.
And despite injuring his head last year when boarding, he's still as keen and willing as he's ever been saying.
"I thought it would be just a hobby, and I thought only people with skills can do it."
"When you finally get into it and you learn to like it, you'll quickly learn to love it. It's more than just four wheels and a piece of wood."
In regards to the skatepark Lil Wayne had this to say.
"I wanted to give them something to do, something they haven't done before"
The final death toll was at a devastating 1,836 and the cost to the areas economy is a mind boggling $110 million
