New Era Cap Logos Explained!

So we all know that New Era cap’s look pretty sweet with the snapbacks, the fun colourways and the cool logos. But what do the logos mean? what do they represent? Where did they come from? And most importantly who’s are they? Well here are some answers…

Houston Astro’s- The Astros were introduced into the Major League of Baseball (MLB) in 1962 under the name “The Colt 45’s” after the name of the Pistol that’s famous and iconic in the West of America. The Houston franchise name was changed to the Astros in 1965, which was homage to Houston being the location for the nation’s space programme, they were the first ever baseball team to play and own an indoor stadium, the famous Astrodome.

The famous star logo still proudly represents Houston’s involvement in the U.S space programme.

The Astros have been sporting ground breaking and colourful sporting wear since 1975 with their iconic and trend setting 1975 uniform.

Legendary players of these years include Jeff Bagwell, J.R Richard, Mike Scott and Craig Biggio

They made their only World Series appearance in 2005 against the Chicago White Sox, where they lost the 4 game series 4-0

The team now play at the Minute Maid Field and are also known as “the stro’s”, their team colours are currently Red, Black and Sand.

Miami Heat- The Heat were formed in 1988 by Businessman Ted Arison and in their short history have become a massive success, capturing the hearts of Basketball fans across the globe.

Despite having a lack of nostalgic history, Miami Heat have gone from being a woeful, rookie outfit, to the best team in the world.

Megastars like Le Bron James, Dewayne Wade and Chris Bosh grace the Miami Roster and are the reigning NBA Champions, having first won the title in 2006, led by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

The team’s colours are Black, Deep Red, White and Orange.
