South West Surfing Spots!

South West Surfing Spots!

Here at Urban Surfer we want to tell you about all of the awesome surfing spots the UK (and beyond!) has to offer.

Today, we're down in the surf capital of the UK - The south west!

Check out some of the south-west's best surfing spots below

Our first two locations are Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay. These two spots are the home of Boardmasters: an awesome music festival with surfing and extreme sport thrown in! Today, Fistral Bay, Britain's most famous surfing beach, reached a surf height of 3.5 feet whilst good conditions allow a surf height of up to 8 feet to be reached. Swells come from the north-west, west and south-west.

Over at Watergate Bay, conditions are pretty good. Today, the surf height reached a high of 4.5 feet, whilst 8 feet can be reached in conditions. Swells come in from the north-west and west.

Next up.. Porthleven in Cornwall - the most southern port in the UK. This morning, a surf height of 6 feet has been reached. Impressive? However, in good conditions a height of 10 feet can be reached! Swells are from the south-west.

Bude is our next stop. A small seaside resort town, Bude is a good surfing spot when conditions are right. Today, the surf height has reached up to 6.2 feet and can go higher when conditions are good. Check out a picture of Bude below!

Praa Sands is also a good little spot. A village in Cornwall, a surf height of up to 6 feet is regularly reached. In the best conditions, 6 feet is the max height, with swells from the south-west and west. It's also a pretty nice village too!

That concludes our little look at surfing spots in the south-west. This is just a tiny few of spots that are available down south - it is the capital of British surfing afterall!
