What’s the difference between an Earphone and a Headphone?
The difference between a Earphone and a Headphone is that Earphones are placed inside the earhole and provides a tight and secure fit for people who are active or exercising, the benefits of this is that it provides a robust and versatile option, they can be comfortably used whilst Running, in the gym etc.
A Headphone is a DJ style option with the speakers placed over the ears using a headband placed over the top of your head. This offers a quality sound and a comfortable fit. Most of our headphones are also noise cancelling headphones, meaning that they block out all sound from outside your speakers, these are ideal for leisurely and relaxed usage with the emphasis on quality.
What do all the measurements mean?
The Omega Symbol (?) means Impedance, all of our headphones/earphones will typically have be between 16-32 ohms, the lower the impedance the more efficient your device will be with modern handhelds like Iphones, Smartphones etc. Whilst producing a clear and
crisp sound. Some of our Headphone do slightly vary upwards of 32 ohms, but this will deliver a quality sound still due to the type of amplifier used in the device.
Frequency Response means how good the device is at picking up small and subtle sounds and how accurately it transmits them, again the lower the figures, the better the quality tends to be, most of our headphones operate between 10hz-20khz.
Driver Diameter’s are basically a turbo charger for your headphones, the higher the measurement the better, most of our headphones operate between 30mm-45mm.
When you see the read “dB” this is a measurement of how effective the headphones are at keeping out external noise, the lower the figure the better, most of our product have a dB of 8-12dB
